Simply a work of art. The story was amazing. Words don't always make a story great, but every element combines and meshes to make a great mix of beauty and simplicity that touches the hearts of everyone.
I have only one criticism. If you could, could you make the people a bit meatier? I understand if it's your style, but I always felt like they were too skinny or thin.
Of course, that's just nit picking. The whole thing was beautiful and inspiring, as well as heartwarming.
i see what you mean with them being skinny, but i decided to go with really thin and long just to vary things a bit from my usual 'paladinesque' style (which are much more meaty)
i tried to make it a little more like 'nightmare before christmasy' but it seems i failed :P
The graphics were lackluster, and the animations were definitely not top-notch. The movie is WAYYY too short, and the whole thing needs a little ramping up.
I'm sure you can do better, but please work harder. I encourage your support for Pico day, however, and the evil twin concept can really be moved farther. If you improved the story and everything I mentioned, it would be a masterpiece. I understand the file loss, but you should attempt to further your ability in more meaty Flashes.
I hope this gets an award and front page. If it doesn't, then it loses its whole purpose, which is to help new users and inform people of old Newgrounds.

Good idea, but...
A few things stack against it.
It looks great, but the whole thing looks confusing. There are two ships on-screen, and the enemies don't disappear when hit.
Fix it up and it should be fine.

Nice animation, but...
Work on the storyline.
I don't wanna watch a 5 minute long movie about senseless violence (although it IS fun) I think a little story at least would make it better.
